Chess timer › Digital chess clock
Digital Chess Clock Online
A digital chess clock shows each player’s remaining time as numbers and can add increment or delay automatically. This one runs in your browser, so there is nothing to buy, charge or install.
Digital versus analog
Analog clocks have two dials and a flag that falls at the deadline. They cannot add increment, so they suit simple fixed-time games. Digital clocks count to the second, show tenths when time is short and apply increment or delay by themselves.
Online or physical digital clock?
| This online clock | Physical digital clock | |

| Cost | Free | Roughly the price of a small gadget |
| Setup | Open the page | Learn the buttons and carry batteries |
| Official events | Usually not allowed | Often required, approved models |
| Best for | Home, school, casual and training | Rated tournaments and clubs |
If you play rated tournaments, buy the clock your event requires. For everything else, a browser clock does the job.
